In-game, Black Flash is a luck-based proc that can be influenced by the Flow stat. Characters who successfully land a Black Flash enter a state of Zone, where their Cursed Energy regeneration is increased by 50% and their movement speed is buffed for 10 seconds. For high-grade players, mastering the rhythm of basic attacks is essential to maximizing the chance of triggering this phenomenon during critical boss phases.
Pro Tip: Entering the Zone
To increase your Black Flash probability, ensure your "Concentration" bar is full before engaging. Concentration builds up by successfully dodging attacks or landing consecutive basic strikes without taking damage. Once in the Zone, your crit rate is effectively doubled, making it the perfect time to unleash your Ultimate.
Cursed Energy Management
Cursed Energy (CE) is the lifeblood of every sorcerer. Unlike traditional mana systems, CE in Jujutsu Zero has flow and friction mechanics. If you spam abilities without regard for your pool, your techniques will suffer from Friction, increasing their cost and reducing their effectiveness. Effective sorcerers learn to manage the ebb and flow of their energy, utilizing basic cursed-infused strikes to maintain their pool while waiting for the optimal moment to use a high-cost technique.
Different characters have varying CE regeneration rates. For example, Yuta Okkotsu has a massive pool but slow natural regeneration, requiring him to stay in close combat to leech energy from spirits. Satoru Gojo, thanks to the Six Eyes, has nearly infinite CE but is limited by the mental fatigue gauge. Understanding the specific physics of your character's energy is the first step toward Special Grade status.
Domain Expansion: The Ultimate Canvas
Domain Expansion is the most advanced cursed technique in the game. It allows a sorcerer to manifest their inner world in a physical space, trapping enemies inside. Within a domain, the user's techniques are guaranteed to hit, and their stats are significantly boosted. However, domains are extremely taxing on your mental gauge and can only be used once per encounter. In late-game raids, timing your domain to counter an enemy's domain—a Domain Battle—is the key to surviving the most difficult bosses.
Currently, only Satoru Gojo and certain Special Grade bosses have access to full Domain Expansions. Future updates are expected to expand this roster, bringing even more depth to the tactical combat of *Jujutsu Zero*.
